My First Solo!

This is the poster for my exhibition coming up! Its very exciting as it will be showing all of my best prints from the last couple years. I am so proud of how far I have come as far as concept goes and the depth and love I have put into these images. This exhibition will be on show between the 22nd of August till the 6th of September. It will be at Entrepot Gallery at the Art School in Hunter Street, Hobart. The opening will be at 5.30, Friday the 24th of August, which I invite anyone to come to and see the artworks and drink wine.

This is a short statement that goes with my exhibition:

Through the traditional methods of printmaking, it has been my intention for this exhibition to focus on the ideas of migration and my own autobiographical narrative through the connections between self and place. As a first-generation child, my interest lies within what is a homeland? And is a homeland a place where we are born, or a country that we feel so nebulously connected to? Although I have lived in Tasmania my whole life, the disconnection I have with my Polish ancestry has become a huge influence on my prints. Combining these ideas with European history as well as cultural and religious beliefs in Poland, I have managed to reflect on my own identity and how I fit into two different worlds.
