My Printmaking

Some of my latest works...

So working up to the grad show these have been some of the prints I have been playing around with. They all look at my concept which circulates around my European heritage and how I find it possible to connect with a different place.

digitalised prints!

Here I have digitally imposed textures and patterns into my prints! Its pretty fantastic the results you can get out of photoshop and the depth you can develop from layering techniques.

With the melancholy girl I am trying to enhance the sad mood which flows through the image. I have imposed some branches into the image and it give the impression that the birds are actually hiding within the trees...
With this image I have enhanced the lighting and given it more textures underneath the initial etching with music notes and vintage patterns.

My new and exciting prints!!

These are some prints that I have only just started on. They are depicting a my own fictional universe where things do not appear as they seem. I am looking at the ideas behind what is a homeland? And is it a place where we are born, or a place where we feel so connected to?

The Silent Printmaker

The melancholy mood portrayed in these images is the sound of sadness and disconnection. My disconnection with my Polish family has led to my isolation. This has become the foundations of my artwork and a way of further connection myself with the family I long for. These images are large, approximately a 100cm by 62cm and take a very long time to perfect. They represent isolation but also growth, love, connection and disconnection. They predominantly represent a feeling, the feeling which is  inside of me and finally I found a way of capturing it.
